I can't help it, he's just so photogenic.
I think I lose a little bit of his love every time I take a picture, though.
snapshots of my day, things I love, things I don't love, all kinds of things

Slice of Life: Day 40.
I made the lentils again on Sunday, because they were so delicious to eat all last week. I get on food kicks, and eat the same thing for a few weeks until I get sick of it. Right now, it's lentils.
This batch turned out way way way better. I give most of the credit to this nifty broth I found. I'm glad someone else did all the work for me to make it taste good.

Slice of Life: Day 39.
There is a kitty here! Sadly not my kitty, but mine for awhile.
He is the most affectionate cat I have ever been around. In this picture he just looks like "please get out of my face" though.
I would love to trade places with a cat for a day.

There are Bobs. They are Skechers' response to Toms.
I'm guessing it didn't go over so well considering I can't find these on their website, or any information about them at all really.
I just have two questions:
To the people at Toms: How you do feel about these, knowing that they're still giving another pair to a needy child? Do you still dislike them for jumping on your bandwagon, even if they're helping more kids?
To the people at Skechers: Really? Bobs? Could you not be more obvious?

What is this? This is butterbeer. Homemade, hot butterbeer. Here is the recipe, we mostly followed it and it was delicious. (We might have added some amaretto...)
Beware: super rich, and you're going to want to make it again. And again. So warm and cozy.

Yes, I was actually required to check this out from the library.
I love the title and the flowy script.
It was published in 1995, so it's not that old, but I picture this in a science laboratory at an all girls college in the 1950's.

Slice of life: day 35.
I didn't make this cake, my neighbors did.
They are super super nice and made cake because they're nice.
I love having nice neighbors.
This totally made my day.

I know the date says I took this picture today. And I did. But this picture is going to count for yesterday, I was just a slacker yesterday.
Yesterday I made Indian lentils! They turned out quite delicious, and it was easy. It was only painful because they took foreverrrr to cook and smelled delicious. I might have taste-tested too many times before they were done, and maybe not cooked them quite long enough.
Here is the recipe!

I went to the Chalk Festival with my parents on Halloween. The things people can do with chalk amaze me.
This was not one of the most mind-blowing drawings, but it's a super cute way of combining Sarasota and Halloween.

I'm not very good at sewing, and I'm not very creative.
I do love thrift stores and I can sew buttons though.
$16 and about 20 minutes of sewing later, and I have a cute new wool coat!

Halloween costume! It wasn't actually on Halloween, but that's okay. "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!!!"
Slice of life: day 30.
I love Halloween. It means fall is here and the weather is going to be not unbearably hot for a few months.
It also means PUMPKINS!
I love pumpkin everything.
I particularly love carving pumpkins. Too bad I am not creative and artistically inclined. This is the best I could do.
